Touching Base

Ok- Where the hell is Monsoon Gallery? - Apparently this is a frequent call from patrons at Matsos in Broome.  Well if you hadn't heard Monsoon is no longer open and the building now houses Government Department offices.  We are all too aware of the hole that this has left in the art scene in Broome so as a result I have decided to start this blog, to at least keep people in the loop in regard to artists and artworks of interest.

Helen and I have moved on to different pursuits since closing the doors but we do miss the contact that we had with the beautiful artworks and also interacting with artists and clients.  Who knows,  Monsoon may still raise it's head again at a new premise in the future.
So then I hope that this blog serves it's purpose to keep you informed of Broome happenings and also in providing a link to some of your favourite artists and artworks.

Feel free to share comments below or send an email with a link to this site to someone who may be interested. Artists can also email any information of interest to me that you may like to be posted on this blog.  Stay tuned for more news...

  3. Hi Simon, thanks for starting this blog. I miss exhibiting my work in Broome and also the frequent visits that I made to the Kimberley.
I am moving to Basel, Switzerland this Christmas for three years and so will miss it all even more.

  5. Hi Simon,
It is such a shame when a gallery closes and I did like to keep up on the Broome art scene! I will keep an eye on it via your blog instead.
Best wishes from Gallery One on the Gold Coast :)
